About The Collection

Museum MACAN’s collection focuses on modern and contemporary art from Indonesia, Europe, America, and Asia.

Highlights from the inaugural exhibition, Art Turns. World Turns. Exploring the Collection of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara. The exhibition displays 90 artworks from 70 artists from the Museum collection. It presents a narrative that explores the resonances between Indonesia and the world and offers a reading of Indonesian art history in dialogue with global art history. The exhibition is on view from 4 November 2017 – 18 March 2018.
