Museum MACAN Educators' Forum is a bi-annual gathering for educators from all levels and backgrounds that serves as a platform for networking and sharing sessions on innovative approaches to education. Designed in a format of presentation and discussion, this Forum also provides an opportunity to expand the exhibition on display at the Museum into learning activities and experiences.

Nowadays, we are getting familiar with inclusive culture. We become more accommodating with the presence of differently-abled friends together in both educational and public spaces. Responding to the practice of one of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) international agendas set by the UN in 2015 which is to provide inclusive, equitable and quality education, the Ministry of National Education issued Permendiknas No. 70/2009 about Inclusive Education.

In the scope of DKI Jakarta Provincial Education Office, it is mandatory for state regular schools to accept inclusive/special needs students through Peraturan Gubernur No. 32/2021 about Technical Guidance for New Student Admissions. This regulation enables us to include everyone with every need, not only in the learning process, but also in the life process.

In harmony with the exhibition of Olafur Eliasson: Your curious journey in Museum MACAN, this edition of Museum MACAN Educators’ Forum is “Our Curious Journey: Art for All”. It responds to the spirit of curiosity that becomes the rights of all; also meaning that everyone possesses their own journey of curiosity. Through the presentation by special need actors in performing arts and involvement of neurodivergent artists of their creative projects, this Forum seeks to discuss among participants with various backgrounds to open better understanding and approach about inclusive culture.

This Educators’ Forum extends its invitation beyond the education community, and encourages professionals, including artists, curators, as well as museum professionals, community actors and policymakers to join the discussion.
