About the Performer

Basajan is a music group originally from Kabupaten Bandung, now based in Jakarta, who perform instrumental psychedelic music infused with traditional Sundanese elements — a distinctive style called Priangan Psychedelic Groove.

Their songs explore a range of themes rooted in Sundanese culture: from myths and mystical tales to symbolic customs, including tracks like Uleman (an invitation), Ageman (a life guide), and 1971 (a ghostly story), among others.

About the Performer

Guru (Indonesian: teacher/ educator), based in Bandung, consists of educators with various practices: Mira Rizki, Bayu Pratama, Fahma Rosmansyah, and Gazza Ryandika.

Guru manifest the idea of situational act in their musical practice and performance, whether considered as tonal or atonal sound composition. This fundamental idea influences their performance and composition to be musical yet responsive to the performers' and audiences' situation.

The band claimed that cooking, reading newspapers, the sound of construction, the river, and other mundane sounds are their genuine, spontaneous, and generative musical approach in order to communicate their ideas regarding the current situation or issues in society sublimely.

This is Guru, a 'Situational Band'.
