Ticketing Terms & Conditions:

  • We strongly advise you to plan ahead by booking the tickets according to the day and time of your choosing. Book your tickets here.
  • After redeeming the tickets according to the scheduled date and time of visit, visitors can enjoy their time until the museum closes.
  • Purchased tickets are non-refundable, cannot be rescheduled and sold, or exchanged with money.
  • Visitors who possess ticket vouchers from prizes or gifts from museum partners are required to redeem theirs with valid admission tickets at our ticketing counter, located at level 2. Ticket vouchers are not for sale and cannot be exchanged with money.
  • Ticket prices and conditions are subject to change without prior notice.
  • Personal data provided by visitors upon booking tickets through the museum’s ticketing platform may be used for administration and marketing purposes. If you’re booking tickets through third-party ticketing platforms, personal data use will follow each of the platform’s policies accordingly.

All ticket holders visiting the museum shall be deemed to have acknowledged and accepted any and all of the provisions stipulated on this page.

Before Your Visit

Kindly read and follow our current health and safety guidelines before visiting. The museum updates the standard operating protocols periodically based on the latest health and safety guidelines.

  • Purchased tickets are for personal recreational and education purposes only.

  • Book your tickets online through Museum MACAN website, or through our ticketing partners (Loket, Tiket.com, and Traveloka).

  • MACAN Society members, Patrons and Corporate Members, and Education Members are also required to book visiting slots through the museum's ticketing platform.

  • There are four daily slots available. Please come according to the time stated on your ticket, and you can spend as much time as you’d like until the museum’ closing time.

  • Group tours (minimum 10 pax) from educational institutions (schools, universities, and others) with valid museum tickets are available by appointment. Kindly contact education@museummacam.org to arrange your schedule.

  • The museum’s operational hours are subject to change under certain circumstances. We will contact ticket holders whose date and time of visit are affected.


Amenities and Accessibility

  • At Level M, you will be directed to the independent ticket scanning section.
  • We do not provide physical museum guides, however, visitors are free to use our digital museum guides and listen to our audio guides to learn more about the artworks by scanning the QR code available at the entrance as well as several other locations in the museum.
  • Baby strollers are welcomed to use at the museum, however, we advise bringing compact and standard-size strollers. Bulky and double-seated strollers are not recommended.
  • Should you need a wheelchair for your visit, kindly ask our museum staff for further assistance.

Documentation

    • Visitors are welcomed to take photos and videos using smartphone cameras during their visit. You are not allowed to use digital cameras (DSLR, Mirrorless, digicam); analog cameras (SLR, 35mm film cameras, instant cameras such as Polaroid and Instax); tripods; and selfie sticks in the museum. Please keep them in your bags and/or check them in the cloakroom.
    • Any photography using flash is prohibited.
    • For journalism and content production using professional cameras, you are required to apply for a permit that must be filed to the museum at least three working days prior to your visit. The visit must be accompanied by the museum staff in charge.
    • Visitors are only allowed to take photos and videos for personal purposes, not commercial purposes. All exhibited works of art are protected by copyrights, therefore, any commercial purposes — including, but not limited to — paid partnerships, advertisements, and product placements are strictly prohibited.
    • Museum MACAN takes artist copyright seriously. The museum, the artist, their studios or estate, and any other copyright holder have the right to request visitors to take down, destroy, and/or remove the portraits and/or recordings of the works of art for commercial purposes and are entitled to pursue any claims, lawsuits, and/or compensation in accordance with the governing laws.

    At the Museum

    • Do not touch any works of art. Slightest contact can damage the surface of an artwork, cause discoloration, even make metal rusts. Do not place and/or lay any object on artworks, walls, and pillars in the gallery. Visitors who cause significant damages to an artwork must file and sign a statement.

    • Keep a safe distance between you and each work of art to help avoid accidental touching or bumping. 

    • No food or drinks are allowed inside the museum.

    • Avoid smoking using tobacco and/or e-cigarette/vape. Any form of tobacco or tobacco by-product is prohibited in the museum.

    • Other than wheelchairs and strollers, no other vehicles such as trolleys, bicycles, roller skates, and electric/recreational scooters are permitted in the museum. 

    • Pets are not allowed in the museum.

    • If you need assistance during your visit, the security team and museum assistants in the Gallery and Public Area are ready to help. The onsite staff can help answer your question, including those regarding the artworks on display.

    • Our onsite staff are not allowed to assist in any form of documentation. 

    • Security personnel may inspect bags, parcels, and similar items. Bags larger than an A4 sheet of paper are required to be checked in the cloakroom. Wheeled bags, such as luggage or wheeled backpacks, are not allowed inside the gallery. 

    • Before leaving the museum, visitors must claim the bags, parcels, and items stored in the cloakroom. Items left behind can only be picked up within 30 days since the day of visit. After 30 days, the museum will not be responsible for any items left.

    • The museum is not responsible for any loss or damage of personal belongings that occurred by the visitor’s negligence. 

    • Do not lean on walls, either to write or for physical support, to keep displayed works of art safe. Kindly sit on the provided bench. 

    • We invite visitors to draw and sketch at the museum. Visitors are allowed to bring papers and drawing books no larger than A3 size, coloring pencils, erasers, and electronic tablets with a stylus. Spidols, ink pens, watercolor paint, oil paint, or acrylic paint are not allowed. For more information, click here

    • Respect the museum and the people around you: running, blocking access, and any other physical activities are not allowed in the museum to avoid running into and damaging works of art. 

    • All areas in the museum (gallery, public area, cafe, and Shop at MACAN) are equipped with CCTV cameras. Any actions that violate applicable laws and/or legal provisions will be followed up with the authorities in accordance with legal procedures. 

    • The museum reserves the right to ask any visitor(s) to leave the premises due to unruly or objectionable conduct and behavior.
