Sabda Leluhur, Suara Alam: Mitos sebagai upaya Hidup Selaras | A Conversation with Sabda Bumi and Kebon Bagea

In a conversation with Sabda Bumi and Kebon Bagea, we will explore the Sunda Wiwitan agricultural tradition and how ancestral wisdom can be a relevant guide in our everyday, urban life.

28.06.2025

About the Speaker

Muhammad Arief and Devi Sari are a husband-and-wife duo who founded Kebon Bagea, a community established in 2022.

Motivated by Arief’s concern over the younger generation’s reluctance to pursue farming, they initiated Kebon Bagea in Rawabogo, Ciwidey, as an outdoor learning space for children and youth while their parents worked in the fields.

Kebon Bagea has since grown into a contextual learning hub for agriculture and food, with a curriculum rooted in local culture and ancestral knowledge related to the Sundanese agroecosystem.

About the Speaker

Growing up in a metropolitan environment, Kiki Nasution’s first encounter with the indigenous people of Kanekes, Baduy in 2020 shifted his perspective on the relationship between humans and nature.  Since then, his curiosity about ancestral principles and indigenous wisdom has led him to observe other cultures in Indonesia, including the Mentawai people in Sumatra and the Dayak Iban people in Kalimantan.

With a shared passion for travelling and learning, Kiki and the small team of Sabda Bumi set out to explore and connect different paths towards climate action and sustainable living. Kiki is based in Jakarta, balancing multiple roles as a photographer, filmmaker, and actor.
